While Microsoft didn’t bring Halo 5: Guardians to PC, it’s available through Xbox Game Pass. However, a PC port for the game may be in the works, as one of the promotional images of the Lenovo Legion Go S shows the game being in the gaming handheld’s library.
Although this could simply be an error in the promotional material, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Microsoft porting Halo 5: Guardians to PC now. After all, the company recently teased that big Xbox-centric improvements are coming to Windows gaming handhelds.
More specifically, the company said that it’s planning to combine “the best of Xbox and Windows” together for gaming handhelds, and the Halo franchise is one of Xbox’s key highlights. Of course, this isn’t the first time when there’s talks about Halo 5: Guardians being ported to PC (Z1 Extreme ROG Ally curr. $499.99 on Best Buy).
There were reports about it before, but the PC port was allegedly scraped due to technical issues. Per speculations, Microsoft was struggling to optimize the game for Windows, but with the recent push from the company to combine “the best of Xbox and Windows,” the port may very well be finally picking up its pace.
As for when the Halo 5: Guardians PC port may be announced, it could happen at the upcoming Xbox Developer_Direct event. This event is set for January 23, which isn’t far from now, so the game may not remain an Xbox exclusive for long.
