Sony has cancelled two more projects that were being worked on, Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games.

The report comes from Jason Schreier at Bloomberg, who shared that the two games being worked on by the two long-running PlayStation studios were both more live-service titles. On Bluesky, Jason Schreier shared that the game Bluepoint was working on was a live-service God of War game. This is to say, they were working on nothing that fans had theorised or wanted the studio that had previously released the remake of Demon’s Souls to be working on.

BREAKING: PlayStation has canceled two more live-service games, from subsidiaries Bend and Bluepoint, Bloomberg has learned.

Fans have long wondered what Bluepoint has been working on for the last couple of years. I can report it was a live-service God of War game. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/article…

In a comment to Bloomberg, a Sony spokesperson said the games were cancelled “following a recent review” of the company’s projects. Neither studio will be cancelled. “Bend and Bluepoint are highly accomplished teams who are valued members of the PlayStation Studios family, and we are working closely with each studio to determine what the next projects will be.”

Bend Studio hasn’t released a game since 2019’s Days Gone, with Sony reportedly cancelling two of their projects. This would be their third.
