If you have always wanted to play the VR version of Among Us because of its first person perspective but don’t own a compatible VR device, then you are in luck. Innersloth, the developer of the popular game has announced that it will launch a 3D version of the game which is unsurprisingly called Among Us 3D.
There’s no release date yet for Among Us 3D but it will be arriving this year on Steam PC. The developer has also revealed that Among Us VR will be rebranded into Among Us 3D in the coming months, so those who own the VR version of the game will see a new logo and name on the title screen.
This rebadge of the VR version will also bring support for cross-play between PC and VR players on devices such as the Meta Quest 3S (available on Amazon for $299), Steam VR, PlayStation VR 2, and PICO. The original 2D version will continue to exist but there will be no cross-play between it and the 3D version.
As part of the announcement, Innersloth has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming game. It has also revealed that the new version of the game will bring some new updates such as new styles and cosmetics for the beans, an in-game currency called Stardust, new limited time events, and a new game mode.
In addition, a demo of the game will be available as part of Steam Next Fest. However, it won’t have all of the features and modes that will be available at launch including crossplay. It will also be limited to players 16 years and older. The demo will be available from the 24th of February till the 3rd of March, 2025.
