Assassin’s Creed Shadows developer Ubisoft has listed the game’s performance modes and targets on Xbox Series and PlayStation consoles.

Assassin’s Creed console performance

Xbox Series X|S Performance Targets

Asssasin’s Creed Shadows takes the series to Feudal Japan, with a dual protagonist setup. On Xbox Series X the console will have the following modes and performance targets:

  • Performance: 2160p via upscaling at 60 FPS with Selective Ray-tracing
  • Fidelity: 2160p via upscaling at 30 FPS with Standard Ray-Tracing
  • Balanced: 2160p via upscaling at 40 FPS* with Standard Ray-Tracing

The Balanced mode requires a 120hz or 240hz display with the proper HDMI 2.1 cable.

The Series S has:

  • Fidelity: 1620p via upscaling at 30 FPS with Selective Ray-Tracing.

It is interesting to see the Series S version push past 1080p, the normal target for the platform. With all of the new tech in the title it isn’t surprising to see a lack of a 60 FPS mode. Sadly, there is no 40 FPS mode on offer, either.

PlayStation 5’s base system is similar to the Series X with the exact same modes and targets. The PS5 Pro’s main differences are Standard Ray-Tracing in performance mode and Extended Ray-Tracing in Fidelity and Balanced modes.
