Ahead of its Game Pass release next month, Rebellion has dropped another 13 minutes of Atomfall gameplay in a new extended trailer. While we’re still waiting for the Atomfall achievements, the new video showcases what you’ll be getting up to and going up against in the strange open-world Xbox game.

Rebellion showcases new Atomfall gameplay

  • The new trailer dives into Atomfall’s core gameplay pillars, such as exploration, investigation, survival mechanics, and combat
  • Release Date: March 27, 2025
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC

If you’re unfamiliar with Atomfall, it’s an action-survival game inspired by real-life events. Set five years after the Windscale nuclear disaster in Northern England, you awake with amnesia inside the quarantine zone, and if you want to survive the dangerous world around you and solve a strange mystery at the heart of the zone, you will need to scavenge, craft, barter, fight, and talk your way across the British countryside. The new extended gameplay deep dive covers some of what we can expect to get up to in Atomfall, including exploration, investigation, combat, and the game’s survival mechanics. The exploration and investigation side of the game looks pretty deep, with Rebellion saying that you have the freedom to forge your own path, and that because the game doesn’t feature a traditional quest system, you will need to talk, research, investigate, and adapt to survive and progress. Interestingly, Rebellion says each journey you undertake in Atomfall is part of an interconnected web of stories, and taking one lead may close off certain aspects of another quest later on down the line.

We also see some of the dangers dotted around the zone, including deadly robots and exploding sheep that are filled with deadly spores, some of the different factions we’ll be going up against, and some intense combat.

Atomfall is one of the more interesting upcoming Game Pass games launching this year, and it appears to be shaping up very well. What are your thoughts on this one? Let us know down in the comments.
