The PlayStation Plus games for August have been revealed, with Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville and Tennis World Tour 2 for PlayStation 4, and Hunter’s Arena: Legends as the PS5 bonus game. All the games will be available to download for PS Plus subscribers from 3rd August.

What are the PS Plus games for August?

Hunter’s Arena: Legends was already confirmed as a PS Plus game, though it’s only the PS5 version that’s being given away for free – it’s a paid game on PS4 and there’s a PC version coming as well. The game is a 30-player PvP and PvE battle royale in which you will be battling each other in a world where demons have surfaced. The reason why you’re fighting each other? Well one of the Hunters was responsible for unleashing the demons, so they do not trust each other. If PvP is not for you then you can enter the dungeons for rewards while facing off against demons and bosses.

Alongside that you have Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, the third game in the third person shooter Plants vs. Zombies series. It built on that same gameplay formula, so if you liked the first two Garden Warfare games, you’ll have an absolute ball with this one as well. Released back in 2019, the game has a string of free seasonal content that came out for the year that followed, but no more new content is planned.

Finally, Tennis World Tour 2 is the latest tennis game to hit the market, with Big Ant Studios looking to refine their sport game and add new wrinkles with a unique Wildcard system. The game was upgraded for PlayStation 5 earlier this year, though it’s not yet clear if the version handed out in PS Plus this August will be limited to PS4.

In our Tennis World Tour 2 review, Aran said:

“Tennis World Tour 2 is a solid all-round tennis game, and the inclusion of the wildcard system offers an additional and entertaining tactical layer to consider as you play. It’s just a shame that some minor issues hold it back from being great.”

Don’t forget the PS Plus games from July!

There’s still plenty of time in July to download this month’s PlayStation Plus games. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and WWE 2K Battlegrounds and the new PS5 remaster of A Plague Tale: Innocence are still available. Here’s the download links straight to the PlayStation Store to add them to your account:
