Ayaneo has multiple Android gaming handhelds in the pipeline. The company has now returned to sharing details about the Pocket Ace, which it continues to bill as the ‘ultimate’ retro gaming handheld thanks to its high-end chipset and circa 6-inch display.

Little over a week has passed since Ayaneo began teasing a new entry in its Pocket gaming handheld series. Nonetheless, the introduction of the Pocket Ace was quickly overshadowed by the Pocket S2, which should be one of the first devices to ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 chipset.

So far, Ayaneo has revealed most key technical details about the Pocket S2, which will make it more powerful than the existing Pocket S and Pocket Evo (curr. $540 on Amazon). By contrast, the company remains more coy about the Pocket Ace, which appears to be a smaller and more retro-focused option than the Pocket S2.

For example, Ayaneo has since hinted that the Pocket Ace will feature a horizontal display that measures between 4 and 6-inches diagonally. Also, it has confirmed that the device will contain a battery with greater than a 5,000 mAh capacity. Unfortunately, we cannot determine the battery’s watt-hour capacity yet, which tends to be more usual than its milliamp-hour (mAh) equivalent.

Precious little else is known about the Pocket Ace for the time being. Apparently, the device achieves over 1.5 million in AnTuTu V10 and 3,800 in 3DMark, which would suggest the inclusion of a flagship chipset like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or older. The design of the Pocket Ace remains a mystery at this stage too though, as does when Ayaneo intends to release its latest Android gaming handheld.
