Two beloved baseball video games are now available digitally for a new generation.
Bases Loaded and Super Bases Loaded are now available as a single title on PC via Steam and GOG courtesy of video game publisher Rock It Games. The ports were done in collaboration with City Connection. Michael Devine, CEO of Rock It Games said this about porting these titles to PC:
“Bases Loaded and Super Bases Loaded have left a lasting legacy in sports gaming, and we’re very excited to work with City Connection to bring these classics to PC players. Rock It Games is making sure to preserve the original charm of each game while making them easily accessible to fans both old and new.”
Bases Loaded was originally released in 1988 on the NES. The game’s success led to a string of sequels on various consoles. Based Loaded was re-released on the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii U, and PlayStation 4. Super Bases Loaded was the first entry of the series on the SNES.
A description for the re-releases read:
The PC release delivers an authentic baseball experience with arcade-style graphics, a unique behind-the-pitcher view, and intuitive controls. Players can switch between the NES and SNES versions on the fly, reference an updated in-game manual for quick tips, and enjoy a retro CRT mode to play with a nostalgic 90s feel. Featuring realistic retro-style voices, action, and graphics, both games will offer single and multiplayer options including the addition of leader boards, allowing users to play a full season or a quick match while selecting from 12 teams and witnessing intense umpire disputes.
The game can be purchased on Steam right now here while GOG purchases can be made here. A 20% discount will be available until May 2.
