The Game Bakers, known for Haven and Furi, announced that its upcoming survival-climbing game, Cairn, will be released on PlayStation 5. A PC release was initially confirmed.
About Cairn
This “realistic mountain ascent adventure” features intuitive climbing simulation with seamless controls. Players will be able to determine their directions and climbing routes using equipment and pitons that need to be used cleverly. Additionally, resource management must be considered alongside one’s physical condition as you seek food and water and set up bivouacs.
Expedition Mode has players choose Aava or Marco, approaching different mountains your way, with the selectable climbing styles being alpine and free solo. Challenges can be attempted here, too, with leaderboards implemented. The renowned comic-book artist Mathieu Bablet is behind the art and story.
