Three weeks ago, developer SNK announced that its upcoming fighting game, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, will receive an open beta from Feb. f20-24 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X/S. At the inaugural Evo Awards ceremony, SNK revealed the open beta’s character lineup and several other City of the Wolves goodies, including new characters, additional information about the Season 1 Pass, and a preorder bonus.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ Open Beta Roster

The open beta, which begins five days from now, is significant. With it, you can explore City of the Wolves’ rich mechanics in online ranked, casual, and room matches. It will include four stages (Training, Freight Express, B. Port, and Training Ground) and the following eight characters:

The other fighters you can expect when the full game drops include all of the above plus previously announced Billy Kane, Gato, Kevin Rian, Kim Dong Hwan, Marco Rodrigues, and Tizoc. That leaves just three more base characters for SNK to reveal between now and the retail game’s launch day.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Season Pass 1 DLC Characters

The $59.99 Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will drop with 17 base characters, but will include Season Pass 1 with the price of admission—no need to spend extra money for the five extra characters. The DLC fighters include the already announced Ken and Chun-Li, continuing the lovefest between SNK and Capcom (SNK’s Mai Shiranui recently appeared in Street Fighter 6); the expected Andy Bogard and Joe Higashi, Fatal Fury series mainstays; and an unexpected but welcome addition: Mr. Big, one of the bosses from Art of Fighting, another SNK fighting game series set in the corrupt South Town.

If you’re curious about when the DLC fighters are coming, note that they’re spread between this year and next. The schedule is as follows:

People who preorder City of the Wolves will receive Terry Bogard’s iconic Fatal Fury 2 DLC costume free of charge and the ability to play the game three days before launch.
