It seems that Days Gone is oblivious to the avalanche of mixed reviews it received. The game has been in the eye of the hurricane, to say the least. Thus, critics and gamers seem to either love it or hate it. The reasons why the game received mixed reviews are all across the board. From buggy performance, to even going as far as saying that Deacon, the protagonist of the game, can’t keep his mouth shut. That said, Deacon seems to be alright and the game is thriving and enjoying some great sale figures across the board. Days Gone currently tops sales charts in Japan and European and American PS Stores.
European PlayStation Blog released its top-selling PlayStation Store games from April and Days Gone was their leading game. In addition, PlayStation Blog in America added that Days Gone was the second highest selling PlayStation Store game. The first spot in America was taken by Mortal Kombat 11. In Japan, according to Famitsu, the game is on its second straight week topping the sales charts. Days Gone top sales indicate gamers are curious about the game, despite the mixed reception.
The game received mixed reviews, with a total Metascore of 72. Fans followed the same line, with comments all over the internet either praising or heavily criticizing the game. At PlayStation Enthusiast, we thought that the game probably needed some additional development time. But, the overall experience was worth playing.
