EA Sports has stated that the EA Sports FC and Madden NFL games in development for Nintendo Switch 2 have been “built specifically” for the portable home console successor’s hardware.
The news that the games were in development was shared within the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation, although no more was shared than that, leading fans to question what they could expect from each experience.
“We’re excited to bring two of our most beloved franchises – EA Sports FC and Madden NFL – to Nintendo’s Switch 2, giving fans even more ways to play the sports they love, anytime and anywhere,” an EA Sports spokesperson explained in a statement to Eurogamer.
“Both experiences are being built specifically for the new handheld platform, grounded in what fans enjoy from our franchises across platforms. We look forward to sharing more soon.”
Further asked as to whether the Nintendo Switch 2 version will have feature and/or visual parity with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, the spokesperson added: “We’ll share more details on the Madden NFL and FC experiences for Switch 2 at a later date, but our goal is always to deliver a consistent player experience across platforms as much as the hardware allows.”
EA Sports FC and Madden NFL will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in 2025.
