PlayStation has had a bit of an odd year. Climbing to the top of the industry mountain during the first half of the current console cycle, Sony seemed unstoppable in their domination of the gaming world. After several years of high-profile releases and Game of the Year exclusives, things have slowed down noticeably in 2019.

After skipping E3 this year, Sony has been absent for most of the year when it comes to major announcements. It looks like that is all about to change as Sony is coming back strong with another State of Play event tomorrow, September 24th, which the company is promising will be full of announcements. According to the official PlayStation blog, we’re going to be seeing a lengthy, 20-minute presentation that will be packed to the brim with PlayStation news, including some world-premieres of upcoming games and announcements from PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios.

However, it was also clearly stated that we shouldn’t expect to see any information about the next generation of PlayStation–at least not in this episode. This is to be expected, though, as both Microsoft and Sony have been fairly quiet about their plans regarding the future of their gaming consoles. It wouldn’t be too surprising if we don’t hear about them until next year’s E3, closer to when the consoles are rumored to be launching.

So, what exactly should be looking forward to? Well, that’s hard to say. There are two events happening on the same day, one of which is entirely dedicated to The Last of Us 2. While Naughty Dog has confirmed that we will see at least a little bit during the State of Play stream, it’ll most likely be just another teaser to get us hyped for the main event later in the day. However, the Sony-exclusive Ghost of Tsushima has had very little coverage since its original announcement, so hopefully we’ll finally see a bit more soon.

As far as the “new game reveals” go, anything could happen. There are a number of first-person studios from Sony that we haven’t heard from in quite some time, but not all of the game reveals may be PlayStation-exclusive titles. With recent hints coming from WB Montreal regarding upcoming Batman news, maybe we’ll get to see a world-premiere trailer for the long-rumored Batman: Insurgency game. There are still plenty of rumors surrounding follow-ups to both Horizon: Zero Dawn and God of War, both of which are most-likely going to receive sequels considering how well they were received.

Make sure you tune in to the stream live on YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, or Facebook,  at 1PM PST/4PM EST.
