Leading kitchenware brand HexClad has just unveiled “Unidentified Frying Object,” its first-ever Super Bowl campaign ahead of the Big Game.

Helmed by creative agency Rosewood Creative, the effort unites celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and comedian Pete Davidson for an unexpected collaboration in outer space.

Unidentified Frying Object” also marks the first time a cookware brand will appear in the Super Bowl.

The spot was preceded by a viral marketing moment where Ramsay posted a photo of himself in a plane outside Area 51, prompting a few content creators to comment on the phenomenon.

Among these influencers was popular Geoguessr player Rainbolt, who used his deduction skills to figure out where the celebrity chef was headed.

In a press release, HexClad Founder and CEO Daniel Winer highlighted how the commercial mirrors HexClad’s innovative spirit:

The one-minute spot immediately thrusts viewers into the heart of a fictional Area 51, setting the stage for an intriguing yet humorous narrative.

Inside, Ramsay is briefed by a general on the appearance of a group of aliens, who just happen to be Foodies.

The celebrity chef is tasked to cook for them, with the entire Area 51 Test Kitchen, its ingredients, and a bunch of alien assistants at his disposal.

The special equipment includes a wide array of HexClad pans, which the general refers to as “top-secret alien technology.”

After Gordon questions this fact, the general clarifies that HexClad was actually leaked eight years ago after it was created with material from an alien spacecraft.

With time running out, the tension is cut with the arrival of the alien ambassador: Davidson.

The commercial ends with a hilarious exchange between the two stars, with Davidson claiming that all “really famous people” are aliens, which obviously doesn’t include Ramsay.
