Can’t wait for the next Legend of Zelda project? You may not be left waiting as long as you may have resigned yourself to in a post-Breath of the Wild haze. As it turns out, Nintendo is apparently already working on the next Zelda game. That means you’re a little closer to potentially getting a new, sprawling adventure in your hands — in a few years, of course.

An eagle-eyed ResetEra user spotted two job ads on the official Nintendo Japan site, with advertisements for careers with the Legend of Zelda team in Kyoto. One listing requires an applicant well-versed in topography for the creation of dungeons as well as level and concept design for dungeons — this is the 3D CG designer position. The other listing is seeking a level designer in general, who’d be responsible for creating a living, breathing new world including enemies, dungeons, and more.

Unfortunately, there are scant additional details about what else the right candidates would be responsible for, but these new listings do give us hope for what could be around the corner in the near future. It’s difficult to believe, but the first Nintendo Switch Zelda title, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is already two years old, and we’re still discovering new and exciting things about the game that we didn’t know before.

What could the next Zelda project entail? It’s hard to say at this point, but with the exciting possibilities that the Switch allows, it’s possible we could see something bigger and even better the next time around. One thing’s for sure: Whatever happens in the wide world of Hyrule and beyond, fans will be there waiting to see what they can find. Zelda is a timeless franchise, and we can’t wait to see where it goes next.
