Following the world premiere of gameplay footage during today’s State of Play event hosted by Sony, Ember Labs’ action-adventure game Kena: Bridge of Spirits now has an official release date. The cross-gen title will arrive on August 24, 2021.
The world got its first glimpse of Kena: Bridge of Spirits last summer during Sony’s PS5 Future of Gaming event. Later on, in September 2020, the development team at Ember Labs announced that the game would be pushed back into 2021 to allow for additional polish. At the time, it was believed to be a PS5-exclusive title, but will ultimately launch as a cross-gen product. The game got its time to shine today at Sony’s State of Play event, showcasing its frenetic combat and wonderful art style.
The game’s official website touts the following features:
Build Your Team: Find and collect Rot to gain powerful abilities, make discoveries, and transform the environment.
Explore: A forgotten village and a strange curse. Draw on the power of the Spirit Realm to restore this once-majestic world.
Fast-Paced Combat: Spirits have become corrupt, trapped, and unable to move on, challenging Kena at every turn.
Ember Labs is self-publishing Kena: Bridge of Spirits and has opened pre-orders to console players via the PlayStation Store and to PC players via Epic Games Store. The launch will bring two editions of the game. The standard digital edition will retail for $39.99. The deluxe digital edition will retail for $49.99 and provides additional art, a Golden Rot Skin, and a unique Kena Staff.
