Nexon is set to release an updated take on one of their premiere MMORPGs with the launch of Mabinogi Mobile on March 27 in South Korea. Set to release for both PC and mobile, the game will have some familiar elements alongside some new twists for previous Mabinogi fans looking for a new experience.
Developed by devCAT Studio, Mabinogi Mobile takes the beloved Mabinogi universe and gives it a fresh twist. While it retains much of the lore and vibrant fantasy setting fans have cherished for years, this new installment brings a modern, mobile-optimized experience full of engaging social features, some updated visuals, and an enhanced story. Whether you’re planning a quiet day of fishing or camping with friends, or diving headfirst into combat, Nexon insists that whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it in Mabinogi Mobile.
Players will start off by choosing one of 5 archetypes: the Warrior, the Archer, the Wizard, the Healer, or the Bard. Eventually you’ll be able to unlock a total of 15 classes regardless of your initial pick. Even if you decide to switch your role, you can easily do so by equipping different class weapons. Other features include relaxing features such as fishing, cooking, gathering, and some enhanced social elements like playing instruments around a campfire.
For those who remember the original Mabinogi, this mobile version is a respectful nod to its storied past. The original game, renowned for its open-ended sandbox gameplay and emphasis on cozy-style experiences has stood the test of time, with players flocking to preregister the mobile installment.
