Idea Factory International has announced that the dungeon-crawling RPG Mado Monogatari: Fia and the Wondrous Academy will be launching both digitally and physically in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch in 2025. The game will feature Japanese voice acting, with players given the option to select English or French subtitles.
Mado Monogatari originally debuted as a series of first-person dungeon-crawling RPGs developed by Compile for the MSX and PC-98 during the 1980s and 1990s. Notably, the well-known puzzle series Puyo Puyo originated as a spinoff of the Mado Monogatari franchise.
Mado Monogatari: Fia and the Wondrous Academy follows the story of Fia, a young girl who dreams of becoming a Great Mage. She embarks on a challenging journey to enrol in the prestigious Ancient Magic Academy, known as the alma mater of The Great Mage. Fia faces numerous obstacles, including demanding schoolwork, strict professors, and mysterious events within the academy’s walls, all while forging friendships with her classmates.
As players progress, they will join Fia and her peers in exploring the academy’s mysteries and uncovering the legends surrounding The Great Mage.

Fia is Mad About Town! — Take a break from dungeon crawling and explore the school grounds where Fia can check out the Bulletin Board for unlocked mini-games, interact with classmates, grow ingredients, cook curry for in-dungeon boosts, and more! Find out what other goings on await Fia along her journey!
Swords, Shields, and Shiny Armor with Synthesis in the Storage Room — In the Storage Room of the school grounds, use items found in dungeons to synthesize into new equipment for Fia. Better synthesis items can later be unlocked via the Grimoire.
