Coinciding with the launch of Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect, the second piece of post-launch content for the action RPG, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics has confirmed Marvel’s Avengers is now available natively on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Previously only playable on the consoles via backwards compatibility, these versions offer up to 4K resolutions, faster loading times and improved visual fidelity.
As with many games receiving new-generation ports, those who own the game on a console’s last-generation predecessor will be eligible for a free digital upgrade. Players can also transfer their in-game profiles and save games to continue where they picked off, and also play multiplayer on the same system family.
Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect continues the narrative, pitting players in the shoes of playable Super Hero – Client Barton – also known as Hawkeye, the unmatched archer with unerring precision (Well, at least until you take control of them). This chapter picks up in the wake up Barton’s protégé, Kate Bishop’s, Operation. Players will learn more about Hawkeye’s quest to find Nick Fury, leader of SHIELD, who he believed could help stop the rise of AIM.
What he uncovered instead was a dangerous new weapon being built by Scientist Supreme Monica Rappaccini that could change the fate of humanity. Along the way, Clint finds himself wrapped up in a time-bending experiment, journeying to a future Earth destroyed by cosmic forces and inhabited by Maestro, an older, twisted version of Hulk who is as smart as he is strong.
Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect is being made available as a free upgrade to the base game, requiring no separate purchase.
