Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has said that previously exclusive XBox titles will now be available on Nintendo Switch 2. During an interaction on the Gamertag Radio podcast, he added that he wanted people to play XBox on “many different screens” and that he wasn’t someone who liked the idea of “trying to gatekeep games.”

“I want people to be able to experience the games that we build, the services that we offer, on as many devices as we can,” Spencer said adding that while XBox hardware was still “fundamental” to them, he followed a “game-first not platform-first” philosophy.

He also said he had congratulated Nintendo CEO Shuntaro Furukawa on their console reveal saying he was a fan of how they innovated and “is really looking forward to supporting them with the games we have.”

There’s no confirmation around which games are coming to Nintendo Switch 2.

Earlier reports have said that games like Halo and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are expected to arrive on Switch 2.

The original Nintendo Switch already has a bunch of Microsoft games including MinecraftOri and the Blind Forest and its sequel Ori and the Will of the Wisps. It has become apparent that XBox is pushing a wider multi-platform agenda after games like Pentiment and Grounded also joined these.

Microsoft has also signed a 10-year deal with Nintendo recently to bring Call of Duty to its consoles, which makes it likely that the game will be on Switch 2.
