Microsoft has expanded the color options available for its Xbox Wireless Controller Cipher series. Following the launch of the Sky Cipher and Ghost Cipher Special Edition Xbox Wireless Controllers in 2024, it has kicked off 2025 with the launch of a new color called the Pulse Cipher Special Edition.
Like the other colors in the Cipher Special Edition lineup, the new colorway has a transparent design. The top is a transparent red and it has rubberized red grips, metallic red triggers, and a red D-pad. The action buttons also have a red font while the Xbox button is red on a white background.
Despite the different shades of red on the exterior, the interior of the Xbox Wireless Controller Pulse Cipher Special Edition is silver like that of the other colors in the series. It should also ship in the redesigned package that debuted with the Sky Cipher colorway. The new retail box is smaller and lighter, lacks single-use plastics, and ditches the paper quick start guide for a QR code.
Unsurprisingly, only the color scheme is different, as the Xbox Wireless Controller Pulse Cipher Special Edition retains all of the features of the other variants such as support for Xbox consoles via Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth connectivity with Windows 10/11 PCs, Android, and iOS devices.
The Xbox Wireless Controller Pulse Cipher Special Edition is priced at $74.99, $5 more than the price of the other Cipher colors. It will be available to buy starting on the 4th of February. It is already available to pre-order from Amazon.
