Developer COLD SYMMETRY has revealed that their critically acclaimed title, Mortal Shell, will be getting a free upgrade to next-gen consoles including enhanced features for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
In a surprise announcement, Mortal Shell developer, Cold Symmetry has revealed that their critically-acclaimed title will be coming to next-gen consoles with a free upgrade to existing owners, and a special Collector’s Edition for the game that will be available for a limited time for both fans new and old.
The new Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition will feature several upgrades that are exclusive to the upcoming version including 4K Resolutions, 60FPS, and of course, it will be coming out rather soon. The enhanced edition is set to release on March 4th, 2021, and will also be taking full advantage of the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller in order to give fans a deeper and more immersive experience into the world of Mortal Shell.
The limited-run will be available for $39.99 and will only be available for a limited time and will include a special 140-page artbook, reversible cover, and art postcards that come with the game, “Mortal Shell has some of the best fans in the world and I am delighted that we can finally answer one of their most frequent requests,” said Kiron Ramdewar, Playstack Head of PC and Console.
“This next-generation upgrade has been crafted in the same spirit as the original – with a painstaking and meticulous attention to detail that our fans expect and deserve. This, along with Mortal Shell’s Steam release this summer, as well as other exciting plans we can’t wait to announce, will ensure 2021 is a vintage year for Mortal Shell fans.”
