Nacon’s new wireless RIG 900 Max HS headset has been revealed. The key difference between this model and the Nacon RIG 900 Max HX, which is already available at Amazon and other retailers, is the official PlayStation licensing. This means that the included wireless adapter supports Sony’s PlayStation 5 and PS4. The gaming headset also works on PC and therefore offers a pretty broad compatibility.
The aforementioned dongle uses a 2.4 GHz wireless connection with low latency, which is crucial for competitive gaming. However, the headset also supports Bluetooth, which allows seamless switching between gaming console, smartphone and other devices. This can also come in handy when taking calls or listening to music.
Nacon further advertises its dedicated iOS and Android apps, which allow users to customize equalizer settings and adjust the microphone sensitivity. Meanwhile, its noise reduction technology supposedly eliminates distracting background noise for clear communication. The RIG 900 Max HS also offers a battery life of up to 60 hours, while the included dock can be used to recharge the wireless headset.
Moreover, the Nacon headset is equipped with 40mm drivers that work in a frequency range from 20Hz to 20,000Hz. Physical buttons can be used to adjust volume, and the detachable microphone can also be folded up and automatically muted. The Nacon RIG 900 Max HS is not orderable at the company’s official US store just yet, but it is already available in Europe for an MSRP of €250.
I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.
My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
