(KTLA) — Nintendo announced Friday a new date for Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders, which were initially supposed to start on April 9 but were pushed back due to President Donald Trump’s widespread tariffs.
Pre-orders for the new console will officially begin on April 24, and it will launch nationwide on June 5.
Pricing for the Nintendo Switch 2 will remain unchanged from the company’s April 2 announcement. The standard model will retail for $449.99, while a bundle featuring “Mario Kart World” will be available for $499.99.
“Mario Kart World” and “Donkey Kong Bananza” will launch alongside the console, with prices holding steady at $79.99 and $69.99, respectively. Digital and physical editions will be offered at the same price point.
However, Nintendo confirmed that several accessories for Switch 2 will see price adjustments compared to the previously announced figures. The company cited “changes in market conditions” as the reason for the revised pricing.
“We apologize for the retail pre-order delay and hope this reduces some of the uncertainty our customers may be experiencing,” Nintendo said in a statement. “We thank our customers for their patience, and we share their excitement to experience Nintendo Switch 2 starting June 5, 2025.”
As of April 18, the updated Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices for Switch 2 accessories are as follows:

- Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip – $39.99
- Joy-Con 2 Strap – $13.99
- Joy-Con 2 Wheel Set – $24.99
- Nintendo Switch 2 Camera – $54.99
- Nintendo Switch 2 Dock Set – $119.99
- Carrying Case & Screen Protector – $39.99
- All-In-One Carrying Case – $84.99
- AC Adapter – $34.99
- Samsung microSD Express Card (256GB) for Nintendo Switch 2 – $59.99
Nintendo also noted that further price changes may be possible in the future, depending on market conditions.
