Well folks, it’s officially been a long day. I just got back from day 1 of the Emerald City Comic Con (this time I attended as a civilian), but I didn’t want to leave anybody high and dry regarding my weekly Nintendo Download.
That said, Nintendo made things weird for me in the Nintendo Download for 3/6/25. For one thing, there’s inexplicably no new featured titles. For another, there’s a TON of MAR10 Day promotions days in advance. While I prefer the usual routine, we’ll start this time with the aforementioned upcoming “holiday”.
Frozen Fortress
Wa-hoo! – It’s almost March 10 – which means it’s almost MAR10 Day! Celebrate our mustachioed hero in red with an assortment of games featuring Mario and friends. Leaf through a colorful storybook world on a quest to collect the Crystal Stars before the X-Nauts do in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. You can also jump into the unexpected with Super Mario Bros. Wonder and platform through the different worlds of the Flower Kingdom with up to three friends, locally or online! Aiming to party with a bigger group? Liven things up with Super Mario Party Jamboree, with a smorgasbord of modes to play with friends, including Koopathalon mode where up to 20 online players can compete to rack up the highest minigame scores. Plus, don’t forget that you can play many classic titles featuring Mario and friends – including Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Mario Golf and more – with a Nintendo Switch Online or Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership!
Battle On
Not to be outdone, there’s also pre-orders open now for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, as well as a new addition to the Nintendo Music app courtesy of A Link to the Past. There’s even a My Nintendo Sweepstakes to win a trip to Super Nintendo World and a Community Challenge for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Plus there’ some sweet swag you can win. Drop It Like It’s Hot
MAR10 Day might not be quite yet, but from today until 3/16 you can benefit from slashed prices on a variety of Mario adjacent games. Here’s my highlights – Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Super Mario RPG, Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Yoshi’s Crafted World. Golden Hour
We’re nearly at the end of this Nintendo Download, but it wouldn’t be complete without some new digital games to check out. First up, Adventure fans can check out the following titles – Centum, Despera Drops, Ever 17/Never 7 Double Pack, Kamikaze Lassplanes and Material Evidence.
If you’re more in the mind for some Arcade action, you can try Go Fight Fantastic!, The Phantom or Uragun.
Fans of platforming we have Be Brave, Barb, Beyond the Ice Palace 2, CubettyCube, MainFrames or Morkull Ragast’s Rage.
For those that prefer to put on their thinking caps, there’s a few puzzling entries, including 3D Don’t Die Mr. Robot, O.W.L. Projekt 2. Or for a duo of RPGs, there’s Alter Age and FATE: Reawakened.
