After more than six months of being in open beta, Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Online will finally be out of beta and pushing out a substantial update this week.
The update will new co-op story missions, new Free Roam missions that bring back both new and familiar faces from the main game, Red Dead Redemption 2, new Posse Versus Challenges including fishing and shooting, a new hostility system, six-player poker games, gameplay enhancements, and more.
And to celebrate this momentous occasion, Rockstar is making Red Dead Online available for all PS4 owners, even those without PS Plus subscriptions. You can jump into Red Dead Online from now through May 27 as long as you own the main game.
If that hooks you in, PlayStation is sweetening the deal by having a temporary special deal for PS Plus. A 12-month subscription is being offered for $48 (usually $60), while a three-month subscription is just $21 (usually $25). In addition, you will receive 10 Gold Bars per month throughout your subscription.
This special offer ends on June 3 and must be purchased within Red Dead Redemption 2 itself. Do note that it will auto-renew at full price unless you opt to cancel.
There are more content and bonuses planned for Red Dead Online in the near future. This includes new Free Roam missions, clothing, and PS4 Early Access content releasing on May 21, just in time for players without PS Plus to jump in.
Players who log into Red Dead Online this week will also be getting a one-time gift of 15 Gold Bars and receive a 15% XP increase on A Land of Opportunities, Free Roam missions and events, Showdown modes, and races. Players will also be finding 25% extra cash and gold in chests. Finally, Ultimate Edition owners will receive $100 in Red Dead Online cash and the Throat Slit emote for free.
