The Pokémon Company finally confirmed their yearly presentation, pinning the usual date for February 27th 2025. It will be available live on YouTube, at 6 AM PST/9 AM EST/2 PM GMT. It’s expected that more of the new Pokémon Legends Arceus sequel, Pokémon Legends Z-A, will be shown, along with many updates to their mobile games. Pokémon Sleep, Pokémon Go, Pokémon Unite, and Pokémon Masters EX are all likely to have a part in the presentation given past precedence. We may also see Generation 10 of the mainline series announced as Game Freak and the Pokémon Company gear up for the Switch 2 console.

People are ever hopeful for Black and White remakes to be incoming, but there remains no confirmed word on whether we will see them. There’s also hope that more information about the return of Mega Pokémon is shown, as it was teased in last year’s trailer for Pokémon Legends Z-A. There’s always hope for the old mainline games making it into the presentation as well whether in the form of remakes or being added to the Nintendo Switch Online service, but expectations should naturally be kept low.

(The following section of the article is purely speculations based from rumors and leaks, while there was a massive data leak reported last year at Game Freak, readers are encouraged to take everything with a grain of salt. Everything known from the leak is subject to change, and the full scope is not known.)

There’s a lot of data allegedly confirmed (as reported by Centro LEAKS on X), including internal code names for several projects, most notable of which are Pokémon Gaia (a codename for Generation 10) and Pokémon Synapse (a codename for a new multiplayer game in the making in a collaboration between ILCA and Game Freak). As is the case for most internal documents, much of the data is obfuscated to protect itself, so not much is actually known about these projects beyond the limited scope of data.

Pokémon Gaia’s details are limited, but the Japanese games are initialed K and N, the working theory is that this may be related to the words Kaze and Nami (which means Wind and Waves, respectively.) The only other known factor we know from internal documents is that the upcoming game has an archipelago structure to the region, and that developers are concerned about potential overlap of another planned project.

There’s nothing specifically confirmed for this presentation, so the only thing to do is to wait and see what the Pokémon Company has up their sleeves.
