Spring is here and Rockstar Games continue seeing the success they’ve seen since 2025 began. It started with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 topping the most downloaded PlayStation game charts back in January (and February for Red Dead). Now chart data from PlayStation is in for March. It shows a similar story.
GTA Online Following The March Update
PlayStation shared their monthly game charts on Monday for PS5, PS4, PSVR and F2P game downloads throughout March. It was the 8th most downloaded PS5 game in Europe and 13th in the USA and Canada last month.
In comparison, it was the 5th most downloaded PS5 title in the USA and Canada and 4th in Europe the prior month. It slipped several places despite the release of the Oscar Guzman Flies Again. However, several new games came out in the same month and that are very popular such as Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Split Fiction and Monster Hunter Wilds.
Now for the PS4 charts. Previously, it was in 6th place in both the US/Canada and Europe. March saw it tumble to 12th and 9th.

Red Dead Redemption 2 On Top Yet Again
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a monster that can’t be tamed. For the fourth month in a row, it is the most downloaded PS4 title across the United States and Canada. In Europe it moved up from third place to take the top step on the podium. This includes downloads to PS5 consoles as the game is not a PS5 title.
This comes a couple of months after Rockstar’s parent company revealed the game hit 70 million copies sold. The game has also seen success elsewhere. It is being used by patients with Alzheimer’s, dementia and the like to good effect. Meanwhile fans in China have made a Red Dead Redemption themed bar and it is incredible.
