Somna #2 is available now, and you don’t want to miss this bedtime story. Somna continues the story of Ingrid, who has been having strange dreams, and her husband Roland, a notorious witch hunter. The church says they are going to cast out anyone who consorts with demons.

That’s not an ominous start at all. Ingrid’s friend, Maja, is in a really bad spot. Maja has been having an affair with Sigurd, and when Maja’s husband, Harald, is murdered, who do you think they’re going to blame? Sigurd wants help from Ingrid, but she knows that if anyone finds out about the affair, Sigurd is suspect number one. With Roland still out of town, the investigation is going to have to wait. Ingrid, trying to help, goes to see Sigurd and finds out that he did kill Harald, supposedly at Maja’s request. But Maja hasn’t been to see him. Did Maja take advantage of him? If so, why did she need to get rid of her husband, if not for her lover?

Meanwhile, Ingrid is terrified of her dreams where she is visited by a demon. She asks why he found her, but it was her searching for something more that brought the demon to her. Roland isn’t planning to be home for a few days, so she decides to let the demon in. Leave it to Roland to come home early and find his wife in the throes with a demon. I can’t imagine he’ll be forgiving even of his own wife.

With only one issue left, where will we leave these characters? Is Ingrid going to let go of her demon? Does she want to go back to the way things were before? What will Roland do with his wife? Is there more to Maja than meets the eye?

I’m already loving the works that DSTLRY releases. Somna might be my favorite so far. This story is intriguing and sexy. The art is dark and yet beautiful. I’m enjoying the fact that no one in this story is one hundred percent good or evil. Everyone has layers of gray. I just love the way Becky Cloonan and Tula Lotay present this story, and I can’t wait to see how they close this chapter. Somna #2 is available now, and the conclusion third issue will be available on March 27th, 2024.
