In an all-new release date trailer, it has been revealed that survival-horror title will be launching exclusively on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this May. The release date confirms that the game will deliver scares inspired by titles such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill.

As part of today’s big reveal, the latest trailer reveals a small hint about the game’s plot and basic mechanics. In the trailer, it’s revealed that players will take on the role of 13 characters who must solve the mysterious case of writer Sebastian P. Hushe who has mysteriously disappeared.

In this adventure, players must discover the truth about a mysterious music box the writer left behind, one that’s responsible for summoning an evil presence that will change shape as it hunts down players, threatening their very sanity as they explore the world about them.

Much like titles such as P.T. or Visage, players will be unable to fight back against the evil presence, forcing them to flee for their own safety, using anything in the area to help them progress their story and evade an untimely death as they collect keys and clues to the mystery around them.

You’ll find that your experience will also come with a permadeath system, making each character’s death a definitive ordeal, and even requiring players to think ahead as they will lose all progression in that chapter if all thirteen characters die.

Much like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, you will find that Song of Horror comes with a fixed camera position while in a third-person perspective, making the game a bit harder, and the chances of survival even harder as you will need to work as hard as you can to survive against all odds in order to increase your chances of success.

Song of Horror will launch on May 28th, 2021, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
