Caracal Games and Dear Villagers have announced that their high-speed open-world action game, Star Overdrive, will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on June 19, 2025. The game is currently available on Nintendo Switch, and a PC release via Steam is also planned for the same date.
Pre-orders are now live for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms for $34.99. The $39.99 Deluxe Edition includes three styles, one design, and 50 dyes for the Hoverboard, along with the digital soundtrack and a digital prequel manga written and drawn by the development team.
The developer also stated that they are working hard to integrate players’ feedback into future patches for the Nintendo Switch version as soon as possible and will implement these updates in the other versions ahead of their release date.
Star Overdrive has players traverse the world on a hoverboard, gaining tricks to boost their speed. Various abilities and powers are developed, leveraging physics to maximize their capabilities. Combat is also present, implementing those same powers.
