The PlayStation experienced one of those classic “oops” moments that saw the Stellar Blade for PC trailer being leaked on YouTube too early. Somebody at Sony just had to hit that upload button one second too soon, and now the whole Internet is buzzing. The trailer has confirmed the date for the game’s PC release as June 11, 2025, which honestly is not such a far date. Was there a real goof there, or was it a cheeky advert? Who is to say, anyway? Every fan is happy.
But what’s all the excitement about for Stellar Blade? Developed by Shift Up, the developers of Destiny Child (yes, the mobile game), this is their initial attempt at launching on consoles—and it looks good. Really good. The game has been a PS5 exclusive title since its announcement, but now there is the hope of having it land on PC in a jiffy. Based on what the trailer shows, it should be a sight to see with slick animations to back it up.
It seems that there is greater confusion in the fanbase. Some responses even say that the Stellar Blade Steam page has actually been there for months with a date of June 2025 on it. So let’s get real – was it really an accident? Did PlayStation perhaps decide to remind everyone just in case? Whatever the case, it was the timing that smacked of publicity. Some read it as a hint that State of Play or some kind of showcase is imminent. Others just can’t wait for the mods.
Speaking of mods, the comments section is living the dream right now. One user said, “Looking forward to the mods =3,” and I wholeheartedly agree. PC editions of PlayStation titles usually lead to crazy community creations, and let’s just say Stellar Blade’s character designs are… begging for customization.
Then there’s that “PlayStation has no exclusives” argument. The comments section just went off with: “Ps has no exclusives.” Well then, ignore the fact that almost all their big games usually launch first on consoles. Still, the PC crowd ain’t complaining. Another said jokingly, “Playstation games are always best played on PC lmao,” and frankly, with all the ports lately, there’s not much to argue with.
A very cool thing about Shift Up is their connection with Sony. Someone unearthed an old announcement wherein Shift Up called themselves Sony’s “first Korean second-party partner.” That was a very fancy way of saying that they are tight with PlayStation but not owned by them. Some fans think Sony should just go ahead and buy Shift Up outright, especially since work on Stellar Blade looks like it would fit perfectly into PlayStation Studios’ line-up.
So, what is it now that they are saying about the actual game? Well, the trailer didn’t give anything new away, but it went back and really reminded everyone why they were so excited in the first place: Fast-paced combat, gorgeous environments, and a protagonist who already has fanart pouring into the internet. If you missed the initial hype, now is definitely the time to catch up, given that June 2025 isn’t too far away.
So it really was a genuine mistake? A marketing stunt? Eh, who cares. The trailer is out, the date is confirmed, and now PC players can finally stop asking for it. From now on, all that remains is to wait… and to keep an eye open for that rumored State of Play.
If you are still not sure yet, someone said it best: “It’s a day one purchase for me.” Same, dude. Same.
