Following on from PlayStation Plus prices going up in Australia last week, PlayStation has today announced that PS5 consoles both going up in certain markets including Australia whilst the disc drive will be getting a price drop.

The PS5 Digital Edition will now cost $749.95 AUD up from $679.95, the PS5 Disc Edition will now cost $829.95 up from $799.95. The PS5 Disc Drive will be going down in price. It’s now priced at $124.95 down from $159.95 AUD.

NEW PS5 CONSOLE PRICES IN AUSTRALIA

  • PS5 Digital Edition – $749.95 AUD ($70 price increase)
  • PS5 Disc Edition – $829.95 AUD ($30 price increase)
  • PS5 Disc Drive – $124.95 AUD ($35 price drop)

On the PlayStation Blog, VP of Global Marketing Isabelle Tomatis said: “With a backdrop of a challenging economic environment, including high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates, SIE has made the tough decision to raise the recommended retail price (RRP) of the PlayStation 5 console in select markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Australia and New Zealand.”
