European publishing giant THQ Nordic has announced that it has opened a brand new development studio called Nine Rock Games in Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava.
The outfit is being headed up by Bohemia Interactive vet David Durcak, who is acting as CEO. There’s no word on who else is working at the studio just yet; THQ Nordic hasn’t announced any employees other than Durcak in its press release, while no-one on LinkedIn has listed the studio as their employer just yet.
THQ Nordic has said that the company is working on “a game in the shooter/survival genre,” which is a pretty broad description.
This is the latest outpost that the firm has set up, following THQ Nordic opening a new studio in Japan. The firm announced the purchase of Milestone, Gunfire and investment firm Goodbye Kansas in August 2019. The last company has since rebranded to Amplifier Game Invest.
