Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket will add trading to the game in February, but it will be limited.
Players will be able to trade with friends, and cards only of the same rarity can be traded. At launch, you’ll be able to trade from Genetic Apex and Mythical Island booster packs, but you’ll only be able to trade cards up to 1-star rarity. This means you won’t be able to exchange for some of the rarer cards or promos that you may be missing from your collection. And it’s presumably the promos that players will be the most annoyed about missing.
Hello! Here is a statement from the #PokemonTCGPocket Team highlighting the details of the upcoming trade feature and new content coming to the game.
The team plans to diligently assess how trading will impact the player experience and the game once it is available. pic.twitter.com/SVBRxIN6sP

The stinger is that to trade, you will need to consume some sort of item. It is an item that will presumably recharge over time as opening cards pack themselves.
The next booster pack will also be added to PTCGP later this month.
