PGA Tour 2K25 has finally been released for all players and it’s garnered some decent reviews out of the door by critics and fans alike. The newest entry in the famed golf franchise only launched on current-generation consoles, so players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have to watch from the peanut gallery instead of playing on the links.
However, there’s another console that’s also currently watching from the sidelines: the Nintendo Switch. While the Nintendo Switch is about to be considered a “last-gen” console thanks to the upcoming release of the Switch 2, it’s still a current-gen console at the time of writing. So can Switch players expect a port for PGA Tour 2K25, are they stuck waiting for the Switch 2, or is the golf game simply not coming to Nintendo’s console?
Is PGA Tour 2K25 Coming To Nintendo Switch?

The last time a PGA Tour title was released for the Nintendo Switch was way back in 2020 with PGA Tour 2K21. Even four years ago, PGA Tour didn’t run smoothly in the slightest on the Switch. Players still complain about the game’s dreadful load times, blurry graphics, and missing features to this day. Moreover, PGA Tour 2K21 on the Switch still costs the full $60 that it did on release day unless you buy it second-hand or during a sale.
Since then, PGA Tour has not released an entry in the series on Nintendo’s console. Whether it’s because the developers simply can’t make use of the Switch’s outdated hardware, or the sales from past PGA Tours didn’t justify the effort, golf fans with the console haven’t been able to play any of the new games.
Unfortunately, that trend will all but certainly continue with PGA Tour 2K25. To this point, the developers and publishers at 2K have said nothing about a possible 2K25 port for the Switch, and Nintendo hasn’t made any public comments about the game either. While we haven’t heard a concrete “never happening” from either side, PGA Tour 2K21 will likely remain the most recent title in the Nintendo Store for the foreseeable future.
Could PGA Tour 2K25 Come To The Switch 2?

One interesting wrinkle with possible Switch ports is the upcoming release of the Nintendo Switch 2. The newest console from Nintendo is set to hit the shelves sometime during the summer of 2025, with gameplay and hardware showcases happening around the world starting in April.
While we highly doubt that PGA Tour 2K25 would be a part of the Switch 2’s initial lineup of games, there’s a small possibility that the Switch 2 does possess the proper hardware to run 2K25 efficiently. Of course, 2K would have to likely already be working on the port in order to get it ready to launch before news about 2K26 starts swirling around.
In all likelihood, though, PGA Tour 2K25 will not be coming to any Switch console, in the near or distant future. 2K25 was finally developed solely for the current-generation consoles, meaning the developers got to fully utilize the power of the game engine to boost graphic fidelity, gameplay features, and other areas.
While the Switch 2 will be significantly more powerful than the original Switch, it’s still not going to have near the performance of a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. The time and effort to develop a port for the Switch 2 is likely not going to be worth it for the developers either, with the console arriving during the middle of 2K25‘s life cycle. It’s possible we see 2K26 arrive on the Switch 2 whenever it comes out next year, but we wouldn’t get your hopes up for that.
Your best bet to play PGA Tour 2K25 and future games in the series is to pick up a current-gen console or grab the game on PC. 2K25 doesn’t require a beefy PC to run, so you should be able to have a decent experience on an older machine or laptop. It would likely look and run better than 2K21 does on the Switch.
We’ll keep this guide updated with any future news about PGA Tour 2K25 coming or not coming to Nintendo Switch.
