Xbox Game Pass scopes out Sniper Elite: Resistance today

Sniper Elite: Resistance joins Xbox Game Pass today, bringing yet more fantastic X-ray kill shots to the service as players chasing the Sniper Elite: Resistance achievements are tasked with blasting holes in Nazis. It leaves our list of upcoming Game Pass games to join the Ultimate and PC Game Pass tiers.

Rebellion’s latest third-person shooter, Sniper Elite: Resistance, launches on Xbox and PC today, dropping straight into the Game Pass catalog for Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. As Sean highlighted in his Sniper Elite: Resistance review, if you enjoyed popping shots into Nazis in Sniper Elite 5 you’ll likely find plenty of enjoyment with Resistance, as this offers a similar stealth experience to its predecessor.Playing as Special Operations Executive Harry Hawker — Karl Fairburn is sitting this one out as Resistance’s story runs parallel with Sniper Elite 5 — you partner up with the French Resistance to locate and destroy a Nazi Wunderwaffle super weapon. With a list of Nazis who must be eliminated in hand, your trusty long gun on your shoulder, and an arsenal of other firearms, you set out to help them meet their maker.

Alongside a campaign filled with meaty targets to fill with holes from vantage points, the Invasion mode makes its return, allowing you to invade other players’ games in an attempt to take them out — but be weary of other players attempting to do the same to you. Resistance also adds new Propaganda missions, which are curated scenarios that put you in the shoes of a resistance fighter to “sneak, snipe, and take down enemies to complete time-sensitive objectives and help end the Nazi occupation.”

There are 53 Sniper Elite: Resistance achievements to unlock, as well as eight additional achievements for the Lights, Camera, Achtung! DLC. While many are linked to the main story or familiar cumulative challenges, there are a good few achievements that could be tough to complete, such as completing the game on Authentic difficulty and beating all Propaganda missions with a three-star rating. Be prepared for a bit of a fight.
