Last week we reported on how the NINJA GAIDEN II Black trailer on the official Xbox YouTube channel was censored by removing any appearance of female characters, now we can see that the Xbox Store page for the game contains the uncensored trailer.
In many cases, the trailer used on the store page reflects the trailer posted to YouTube, this time it seems Xbox took a different route. We were unable to confirm via archive if the Xbox Store ever had the censored trailer, but it begs the question if Microsoft is aware that fans noticed the different trailers.
When we posted the news last week, some individuals mistakenly believed we were referring to the content of the game and not just the trailer; or that there was no difference between them. Thankfully, Jahus on YouTube created a side-by-side comparison of the two trailers for ease of understanding. Which you can check out below.
Even if you’re against fanservice (what are you doing here?), it’s still weird that the Xbox trailer on YouTube intentionally cut out all main female characters in favor of more action cutscenes.
NINJA GAIDEN II Black is available now on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
