The Grinding Gear Games team have returned from their holiday vacation and quickly got to work on Path of Exile 2 patch 0.1.1, which is set to release later this week, and appears to go a long way towards addressing many of the community’s concerns, particularly when it comes to endgame content.

In a new video, game director Jonathan Rogers details the team’s plans to address many of the pain points involved in endgame mapping, including more bosses, better map navigation, reduced terrain clutter, improved visibility for ground targeted effects, and more.

The patch will also include a balance sweep for items, including unique items, which will have buffed stats to make them better suited for leveling and better fit full builds. One crowd pleaser change coming to items is the ability to overwrite socketed runes with new ones. This was an inexplicable oversight (or design decision?) that went live with PoE2’s early access debut and the fact the team will be rectifying this in the new patch should reduce a lot of the anxiety around socketing runes into items.

Lastly, and something more targeted towards console players, console players will finally be able to utilize custom filters to improve their item hunting experience. PC gamers have been spoiled with a number of community developed filters that were available soon after early access went live and the ability to have filters on console should be a significant quality of life improvement for that crowd.
