Beyond Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Ghost of Yotei, not a whole lot is known about this year’s remaining slate for PlayStation Studios.
According to industry insider and Giant Bomb host, Jeff Grubb, PlayStation’s plans might include a brand new God of War title set in Greece, contrary to persistent rumours of a remastered collection of the original trilogy.
The release would be expected to time out with the planned 20th-anniversary celebration of the franchise and would mark a return to where it all began for God of War, which didn’t pivot to a Nordic setting until 2018’s soft reboot God of War. The context of Grubb’s post suggests it’s a “side-story,” perhaps similar to Uncharted’s Lost Legacy expansion, as opposed to a full game.
OK. Everyone keeps asking about this, so I’ve tried to find out more: There’s still a Greek God of War thing coming out this year, but it’s not a remaster collection. It’s a new side-story project.

Grubb went on to elaborate that his source had previously indicated that God of War wouldn’t have a presence at the recent State of Play, but might eventuate during anniversary celebrations.
The celebration has so far included an art exhibition, new merchandise for fans to pick up, and, of course, in-game content for God of War Ragnarok, including the Dark Odyssey set which became available recently.
