The Avowed release time is almost here, unleashing the latest Obsidian RPG on players after a long wait.
It’s been a long time coming, but the latest Xbox first-party title is here. Obsidian Entertainment’s reputation precedes the company, serving as the brain behind the Fallout: New Vegas. It’s a big deal, especially after The Outer Worlds proved that they’ve got some very exciting stories to tell in the RPG genre yet. Xbox knows this and is hedging a lot of bets on the game, especially as it’s a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass.
Our review of Avowed highlighted an exciting game with a number of flaws that pin it into the mid-range of quality, with our writer Aaron Potter revealing that “The world it presents is beautiful and engaging, and the sheer level of weapon variety present can lead to some of the most flexible combat I’ve ever played from a first-person perspective. Full stop. However, beneath such flashy sights lay a deeply problematic and annoying approach to progression that grates more than it satisfies, which, when coupled with throwaway companions and a generic narrative, ultimately leads to a fun but frivolous RPG experience not indicative of Obsidian Entertainment’s best.”
We still have the Avowed release date to wait for, and as we twiddle our thumbs without early access that players could bag with the Premium Edition preorder, we still have to hold out for the game’s full release. Luckily, though, there’s not much longer to wait for the Avowed release time to arrive, bringing with it an RPG that a lot of players have been excited about. When is the Avowed release time on Xbox and PC?
The Avowed release time is expected to be 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm GMT on Tuesday, February 18, on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Game Pass. For players in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, it will launch the following day, Wednesday, February 19. We can expect the game to launch at this time, as this is the same release time as the Avowed early access launch. This is also when Steam shows it as being unlocked and playable on PC. Not long to go now!
