Red Hook Studios released the free Kingdoms update and the Inhuman Bondage DLC for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of Darkest Dungeon II. The content, which previously released on PC, is planned to launch for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch at a later date. To celebrate the release of the content, Darkest Dungeon II has a 33% discount on the PlayStation Store until March 26, 2025.
A follow-up to 2016 turn-based roguelike Darkest Dungeon, Darkest Dungeon II sees players tasked with guiding a stagecoach expedition across a decaying landscape to try and avert the apocalypse. The game features a refined version of the previous game’s combat with a new Token System. Each failed run grants resources that can be used on upgrades for future attempts. The game also includes an affinity system between party members, and players can learn more about their heroes’ backstories.
Darkest Dungeon II is currently available for PC (via Steam, GOG.com, and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Those looking to read more about the game can check out Ryan Costa’s review of its PC release.
