A few weeks ago EB Games started accepting trades on retro consoles, games/ and accessories on store, but there was no information on what would be done with these items.
We’ve now learned after speaking to people familiar with the plans, that they plan on selling these games, consoles and accessories online initially, with the potential to roll it out to stores if the trade volume is high enough. These items will be assessed by EB Games and ensure that they’re in a position to be sold before being listed online.
From speaking to several stores, the amount of retro trades has been quite significant with a number of trades each day, with people seemingly happily parting with their collection, most of which is from newer console generations, but there’s been quite a few gems from older consoles trades in as well.
As far as timings go, we couldn’t pinpoint any concrete information about exactly the timing of when we could expect to see items online, but we wouldn’t think it’d be too long, so it’ll be interesting to see what stock is available and at what price.
