Before the full free-to-play release, Netmarble is offering early access to the much-anticipated Game of Thrones RPG later this month. Players will have to spend at least $25 to get an early sneak peek into the game.

Netmarble’s highly anticipated free-to-play RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, is all set to launch paid early access on March 26th, ahead of its full free-to-play release. The game, set in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire universe, will be available on multiple platforms like PC (via Steam) and mobiles.

As announced earlier, the game is free to play for everyone. However, players who want to experience the game early can choose to go for early paid access. The early access comes in three editions. Here’s what the tiers look like –

  • Standard – $24.99
  • Deluxe – $49.99
  • Ultimate – $89.99

Each tier includes early access, in-game currency (Iron Bank Marks and Copper), and exclusive cosmetics such as outfits, mounts, and emoji packs. The Ultimate Edition adds premium battle passes, additional mounts, and equipment. Kingsroad promises a rich co-op PvE experience, blending third-person action with massive boss battles that will remind players of Monster Hunter. Players can explore Westeros, battle mythical creatures like dragons, and interact with familiar characters such as Jon Snow and Cersei Lannister. The game also emphasises cross-platform play, allowing mobile and PC users to team up in real-time co-op missions.

The decision to launch Kingsroad as a paid early access title follows a growing trend in the gaming industry, where developers use early access programs to gather player feedback and finetune the gameplay before the full release. As mentioned earlier, Netmarble has assured fans that the final free-to-play version will be accessible to all, with the early access phase serving as a way to reward dedicated players with exclusive content.

If you’re interested, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is now available for pre-registration on Google Play. Meanwhile, for PC players, early access will be available via Steam on March 26, 2025.
