Riot Games has announced that the upcoming LoL trading card game is now called Riftbound and it’s dealing later in 2025.
Get ready to play your best hand soon. Players looking for something a different shiny can pick up the newly named League TCG later this year. Riot Games has announced that its under development card game is officially called Riftbound. The newly named card battler also has a launch date, coming to China in the Summer of 2025. Players on English speaking shores will be able to check their deck from October 2025, giving us all a chance to pick from a huge roster of familiar faces and more than 300 cards, in a quest for victory.
For those that missed the early announcements, Riftbound was initially brought to public attention at the end of last year. Now we know that the inaugural set of cards, called Origins, is almost ready to go live. It contains over 300 different picks and a core of champions from league of Legends. Annie, Garen, Jinx, Lee Sin, Lux, Master Yi, Viktor, Volibear, and Yasuoa re just some of the familiar faces to make the cut, but these are made to be played.
Riftbound can be played in 1v1 and multiplayer formats including 2v2 and free-for-all. New players won’t ned to jump straight into the fray or battle the hordes just to get a chance to play. Starter decks will go live, ready to play, with 56 cards, while the Proving Grounds can accommodate 2-4 players its boxed set.
Booster packs will be available for anybody looking to power up, and Champion Decks will feature a variety of card types including units, legends, champions, spells, gear, runes, and battlegrounds.
Riftbound or 符文战场 in China will launch in Summer 2025 with Shining Soul. Riot Games and UVS Games will launch Riftbound in English-speaking countries in October 2025 and additional regional rollouts in 2026.
