Backyard Baseball ‘97 is now available for iOS and Android!

The original Backyard Baseball ’97 is now enhanced to run on mobile gaming platforms. Fans can inhabit their inner Hall-of-Famer and play as Pablo Sanchez and the rest of the Backyard Baseball squad as they appeared in the original but on mobile platforms. Playground Productions and Mega Cat have shared the difficulties of bringing the classic game back without the original source code in the past, but this week (the week of MLB Opening Day) the team of developers at Mega Cat have gotten it running “in just months”.
Playground Productions CEO, Lindsay Barnett said “It’s honestly surreal to play Backyard Baseball ‘97 on a device that didn’t exist in 1997. Playing on a mobile device makes for the ultimate nostalgic, cozy gaming experience for me and other millennials.” Playground Productions Chief Product Officer, Chris Waters adds “It has been amazing to teach my little nieces and nephews about baseball through Backyard Baseball ‘97. The gameplay on mobile is so easy and accessible for them to just pick up and play,” regarding the return to Backyard Baseball ’97.
