In a surprisingly emotional tribute package, which covers the many exploits of Kratos, PlayStation and Sony Santa Monica have expressed their thanks to fans for twenty years of God of War.

Speaking candidly, although I did adore the original game, I didn’t expect God of War, as a franchise, to still be crashing along two decades later. I certainly didn’t expect it to reinvent itself and hit its stride either, which it did in 2018 with God of War, the soft reboot that saw the series pivot to Norse mythology.

This short “thank you” package, which is aimed at the fans who’ve helped God of War become the mammoth success that it is, thumbs through Kratos’ greatest hits and, as is expected, features more than a few spoilers that you should be cautious of if you’re not up to date.

Although celebrations for God of War’s anniversary are ongoing, fans can download the latest patch for God of War Ragnarok anywhere it’s available and gain access to the Dark Odyssey set free of charge.
