New info about Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to 2020’s hit video game, Ghost of Tsushima has surfaced. The info provides a little bit more background about the protagonist ahead of the game’s release later this year.

Last year, Sony’s PlayStation Studios announced that the popular video game Ghost of Tsushima, will be getting a sequel. Titled, Ghost of Yotei, the announcement included a trailer that revealed the game will feature a new protagonist alongside a handful of other details. Now, the official webpage for the game has been updated with a few new details.

It was already revealed that Ghost of Yotei will be set in the year 1603, three centuries after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, and that the story will center around a female character named Atsu and take place in the lands surrounding Mount Yotei which is now known as Hokkaido in present day Japan.

According to the information on the game’s dedicated page, Atsu is on a quest to hunt down the killers of her family. During this adventure, she will take on different jobs including bounties to earn money for her journey. The page also mentions that Atsu will use a variety of weapons including an ōdachi, kusarigama, and dual katanas, some of which have already appeared in the announcement trailer.

Developed by Sucker Punch productions, a subsidiary of PlayStation Studios, Ghost of Yotei is set for a 2025 release, although the exact date remains unknown. It will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 (available on Amazon for $449) and will feature enhanced performance and visuals on the PlayStation 5 Pro.
