PlayStation held its first State of Play for 2025 this morning, featuring some new announcements, premiere trailers and more.
As always for PlayStation, this State of Play seemed to feature more games that looked like Bloodborne, but no Bloodborne-remaster, but that’s okay; I’m sure fans will continue to be okay with that–there’s Lies of P DLC here, which is as close as we could get. This State of Play also brought some exciting new reveals, including a Shinobi game, a new project from Q-Games and the follow-up to Returnal from Housemarque.

Monster Hunter Wilds

A new trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds started the showcase, giving an expansive view of the monsters and areas you’ll be exploring in the game. Mizutsune will be added to the game on its first update, post-release. Another beta for the Monster Hunter Wilds is taking place this weekend from Friday to Monday.
Monster Hunter Wilds releases on February 28.
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance

After teasing something at The Game Awards a couple of years ago, SEGA has now shown the revival of the Shinobi franchise.
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance will be released on August 28.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

The first real trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorld is here, and it looks great. It features new worlds, what look like rings that change the tracks, and more.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger

Lost Soul Aside

Lost Soul Aside will be released on May 30 for PS5 & PC.

WWE 2K25

A trailer focused on ‘The Island’ was shown here. This pseudo-MMO arena allows up to 50 players to explore together. However, it is not available on the PS4 version of the game, and is only available on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game.

Borderlands 4

A new trailer for Borderlands 4 showcased the fast-paced action fans have come to expect from the franchise, while, of course, an assortment of guns you can use to cause such chaos.
A special ‘Borderlands 4 State of Play’ is coming later this year.
Borderlands 4 will be released on September 25.
Split Fiction

Darwin’s Paradox

Following its accidental release on the PlayStation Store and leak last week, here’s the official new trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which includes a release date and a tease of Ape Escape content.

Hell Is Us

Lies of P: Overture

The 2023 game Lies of P is getting its first expansion, which takes Geppetto’s puppet to a frozen area.
This expansion is arriving in 2025.
Dreams of Another

This intriguing game from Q-Games is built around the idea of ‘no creation without destruction,’ and you use a gun in this game not to destroy but to build and reveal the world.

Days Gone Remastered

Days Gone is the next game from PS4 to get a PS5 port. It’ll include VRR & PS5 Pro support alongside a bunch of new features, including ‘horde assault.’ You can upgrade for $10 from the PS4 version of the game.
Days Gone Remastered is releasing on April 25.
Stellar Blade & Goddess of Victory: Nikke DLC

The DLC for Stellar Blade, which has a crossover with the mobile game Goddess of Victory: Nikke, will be released in June, alongside the PC port of Stellar Blade.
PS Plus Game Catalog
Lost Records: Blood & Rage will launch on the PS Plus Extra/Deluxce catalogue on February 18.
Blue Prince & Abiotic Factor will also be launching Day One on the Games Catalogue later this year.

Armoured Core games and Patapon are coming to the classics game catalogue.
Tides of Annihilation

Metal Eden

This fast-paced FPS has a loud trailer, and the game isn’t that far away post-reveal, which is always good.

MindsEye

MindsEye from Build a Rocket Boy, helmed by Leslie Benzies, a former lead developer on GTA games, was showcased in its most depth during the State of Play, both with a story trailer and a gameplay-focused one.
Saros

Housemaruqe announced Saros, a new game that will be released in 2026 with a teaser trailer. Rahul Kohli is playing the lead here in a game where you’ll be ‘come back stronger.’ We can expect to learn more about Saros and see the first gameplayer later this year.
Saros will be released on PlayStation 5 in 2026.
