The Sims are celebrating 25 Years in 2025, and this weekend fans can visit ACMI in Melbourne to check out a special three-day event.

Visitors can take a step back into the 2000s with a fully immersive space that has been curated by Josh & Matt Design.

“The duo have recreated an iconic pre-teen Y2K-era bedroom, complete with 2000s aesthetics and classic Sims design elements and easter eggs—think blow-up couches, CD towers, fuzzy rugs, and more.”

You’ll also be able to enjoy bookable gameplay stations through the space in ACMI, which are set up with the recently released The Sims: Birthday Bundle.

On Saturday, a special panel will explore The Sims’ impact and fan favourite moments from the past 25 years with Mavis Chan, General Manager of the simulation Division at EA/Firemonkeys, Jini Maxwell, Curator at ACMI, Josh Jessup, and Matt Moss of Josh & Matt Design.

The event will be held at ACMI in Melbourne, Victoria, from Friday, February 21, until Sunday, February 23, and is free to enter, but you should book here.
